How Ultra Laser Benefits your skin?
With the power of skin boosters (eg. stem cells & exosomes), & Ultra Laser, you can treat & improve multiple pigmentation conditions & optimize & maintain healthy, youthful & glowing skin. One of the standout benefits of the Lutronic Ultra Resurfacing Laser is its versatility. This treatment can address a wide range of skin concerns, including:
1. Fine Lines and Wrinkles: By stimulating collagen production, Lutronic Ultra Resurfacing Laser helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, resulting in a smoother, more youthful complexion.
2. Uneven Skin Texture: The fractional laser technology helps even out skin texture, making it especially effective for those with rough, uneven skin due to sun damage or acne scarring.
3. Hyperpigmentation, Freckles and Sun Damage: The laser targets areas of discoloration, such as age spots, freckles, and sun damage, evening out the skin tone and reducing pigmentation irregularities.
4. Age & Liver Spots: Targeting the dark, pigmented cells in the skin, aging dicoloration can be faded.
5. Acne Scarring & Enlarged Pores : The Ultra Resurfacing Laser can significantly reduce the appearance of acne scars, making it a popular option for those with post-acne marks or pitted scars.
6. Melasma: The depth of treatment allows Refine's aesthetician to target melasma-induced pigmentation & bring it to the surface without stimulating melasma triggers, mainly heat.
7. Total Skin Rejuvenation: By resurfacing the skin, cell renewal is accelerated which sheds away old skin & revealing radiant, smooth skin
The Science: How Ultra Laser works under the skin
The Lutronic Ultra laser is a cutting-edge device designed for skin rejuvenation, targeting multiple skin concerns with precision and efficacy. With a non-ablative thulium laser (penetrating to a 1927nm depth), Ultra coagulates water molecules found in the skin, thereby kickstarting collagen & elastin. The system uses a fractionated approach, meaning the laser creates multiple tiny, controlled columns without creating open wounds; collagen later fills these columns as a part of the skin healing process. While leaving the surrounding tissue & superficial skin intact, this process promotes faster healing and less discomfort than traditional ablative treatments. This benefits those who want effective results from advanced treatments with fewer risks.
The columns make the skin like a sponge, meaning actives applied post-procedure are absorbed much more readily & enhance the cell regeneration process.

With the Ultra’s system, clients can experience a mild, resurfacing treatment to enhance the skin’s glow & texture or a more aggressive treatment without the intense downtime for more severe skin concerns. Paired with Refine’s aestheticians’ facial technique & selecting specific skin boosters / exosomes appropriate for each individual, Ultra Laser’s results are maximized for a luxurious skin transformation.
My experience with Ultra
I will preface my experience by saying we opted for a more a aggressive treatment for myself for two reasons: to experience the level of intensity to share with you & secondly, to target specific areas deeper. My main concerns going in were some stubborn whiteheads & active acne (typically around my time of month), some deeper pigmentation around my mouth & chin area & prevention of collagen loss in my neck area. With Ultra Laser, numbing is recommended!
The Feeling: The whole treatment is generally comfortable with the sensation of the laser like a warm prickle (almost like a cat's tongue!). In general, I have a medium-high pain tolerance, & I only started to feel mild discomfort closer to my last passes made on those deeper skin concerns of mine! As for the neck area, I barely felt anything. And before anything starts to feel intolerable, the laser part is done!
Skin response of edema & errythema directly after Ultra
For the rest of the day, I was able to return to work & activities right away; I had the sensitivity you feel & look after you get sunburned, but the feeling faded a couple hours later. By the time I got home, only the errythema & slight swelling remained. My skin tone did take on the bronzed appearance, a sign of the pigmentation shedding process starting!
Skin response the night post-Ultra
By the morning time, my skin felt like sand-paper, the next sign of the accelerated cell turnover. But what I immediately noticed is the bump of my acne & whiteheads went down completely! There was still some minor swelling, but overall skin felt normal!
Day 1: Morning After Post-Ultra
Day 3: I am noticing flaking & texture is still like sand-paper, but otherwise there is no skin sensitivity; just a bit of dryness.

Post-Procedure & Results
After your treatment, you may experience redness or a sunburn-like sensation (just like me!), which should subside within a few hours. For the first few days, your skin may feel dry or flaky as it begins to heal. It’s crucial to follow post-treatment care instructions, including:
1. Moisturizing: Keep your skin hydrated with gentle, hydrating products to promote healing. Prior to treatment, Refine's aestheticians carefully check each individual's hydration level, which will inform you how much hydration is needed to sufficiently heal the skin & optimize your treatment results.
2. Sun Protection: Since your skin will be more sensitive to the sun, it’s important to apply sunscreen daily to prevent further damage. Choosing the appropriate SPF minimizes risk of irritation, further pigmentation damage & protects the delicate skin condition post-Ultra.
3. Avoid Scrubbing or Picking: Avoid picking at your skin while it heals to prevent irritation or scarring. Doing so can create new hyperpigmentation since the cell renewal process is disrupted/
4. Pause exfoliating actives for 1 week: Unless otherwise discussed with Refine's aestheticians, stopping exfoliation is highly recommended to prevent any risks of .
Most clients notice improvement in their skin within a few days, but the full results will become evident over the following weeks and months as collagen production increases. Redness/Errythema & swelling are normal skin reaction & individuals with pigmentation can experience a temporary bronze tone as the pigmented cell begin to shed off. Depending on the condition being treated, a series of treatments of 3-6 may be recommended for optimal results.
