Why Sérum Spectral?
Most light-protection skincare stops at the surface — sunscreen reflects or absorbs UV before it reaches your skin. But the reality is that light exposure is constant: morning commutes, computer screens, overhead office lights, even cloudy-day UVA. Over time, this triggers oxidative stress, melanin dysregulation, collagen breakdown, and the visible signs of photo-aging.
Sérum Spectral takes a different approach. Inspired by photobiology — the science of how light interacts with living tissue — it activates four key biological responses that your skin already uses to defend itself. Think of it as training your skin to handle light, not just shielding it from light.

Biologique Recherche's research identified four mechanisms the skin naturally uses to manage light exposure. Sérum Spectral supports all four:

A polyphenol-rich Arctic berry that acts as a powerful antioxidant adaptogen, helping skin defend against free radicals generated by UV and visible light.
Contains schisandrin, which supports cellular renewal by promoting autophagy — the skin's natural process of clearing out and recycling damaged cellular components.
A biomimetic adaptogen that helps reinforce the skin's natural barrier and moderates melanocyte overactivation, supporting an even, balanced complexion.
How to Use
Use year-round, morning and evening.
- Cleanse with your usual Biologique Recherche cleansing milk (we recommend Lait VIP O2).
- Apply your prescribed Lotion P50 on a cotton pad.
- Apply 3–5 drops of Sérum Spectral to the face, neck, and décolleté. Press gently into the skin.
- Follow with your moisturizer or targeted cream.
- In the morning, always finish with broad-spectrum SPF.
Sérum Spectral does not replace sunscreen. It works in synergy with SPF to prepare the skin from within.
Who Is It For?
Sérum Spectral is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. It is especially recommended for:
- Early signs of photo-aging (fine lines, dullness, loss of firmness)
- Uneven skin tone, sun spots, and hyperpigmentation concerns (excluding melasma)
- Skin frequently exposed to screens, indoor lighting, or outdoor environments

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Sérum Spectral a sunscreen?
No. Sérum Spectral is not a sunscreen and does not contain SPF. It strengthens the skin's internal response to light exposure and should always be used under a daily broad-spectrum sunscreen.
How is Sérum Spectral different from a vitamin C serum?
A traditional antioxidant serum (like vitamin C) primarily neutralizes free radicals on contact. Sérum Spectral goes further — it activates four biological mechanisms (the 4R framework: Resist, Remove, Revive, Reinforce) that train the skin to adapt to ongoing light exposure over time.
Can I use it with Lotion P50 and my other Biologique Recherche products?
Yes. Sérum Spectral is designed to integrate seamlessly into any Biologique Recherche routine. Apply it after your Lotion P50 and before your moisturizer, morning and evening.
Is it safe for sensitive or acne-prone skin?
Yes. The lightweight, fast-absorbing formula is suitable for sensitive skin and layers well without clogging pores.
When will I see results?
Clinical studies show measurable improvements in radiance and softness after 28 days, with continued progression — including +16% radiance and +18% more even skin tone — at 56 days.
Does it help with hyperpigmentation or melasma?
Sérum Spectral helps improve overall skin tone evenness and supports the skin's natural response to light-induced pigmentation. However, clinical testing excluded melasma, so it is not specifically positioned as a melasma treatment. For melasma concerns, please consult with our team for a personalized recommendation.
Should I get the 8ml or 30ml size?
The 8ml is ideal as a travel size or to try the formula before committing. The 30ml is the full size and lasts approximately 2–3 months with twice-daily use — the better value for daily routines.
